Answer: I tell all my customers that painting is the easy part (and most fun). Getting the surface ready for the painting phase is the most important. There’s little point in putting energy and time into a painting project that will peel or fade a year later. Hiring a professional and experienced painting contractor is key in ensuring your money is well spent. Contact us today for a free estimate and consultation!
Answer: Absolutely! Our clean jobsite system includes a designated shop area where all supplies are kept neat and orderly. We also clean up each jobsite every day. Our employees are always in uniform, are respectful, and do not smoke on the jobsite. Your home will be kept clean, safe and orderly, throughout the duration of the project.
Answer: Our equipment is the best, leading-edge technology available and, for the sanding that produces the most dust, we have full extraction systems attached. We remove from the site, at the end of the job, the bags of dust and any other rubbish we generate. The site is left neat and clean.
Answer: Our crews are experienced professionals that means we work efficiently without compromising quality. Most rooms take us between 1-2 days to complete, depending on their size and complexity. In most situations, we complete our projects within 1-2 weeks ensuring the least amount of disruption to you and your home. Once we start your project we continue it until it’s complete
Answer: For an average house we usually have a crew of 2-4 painters. If it’s a very large house, or we are working on a tight timeline we may bring more painters. With multiple crews on our team, we can concentrate resources and accommodate almost any deadline. Ask us for more information if you need to start right away!
Answer: We generally work Monday through Saturday, 8AM – 5PM. But we understand that each person and HOA schedule is unique and we pride ourselves on the flexibility to accommodate ones schedule
Answer: Yes, we are able to work on the weekends
Answer: It is not necessary for you to be home while we are painting; in fact most people prefer not to be. We only ask that you are there at the beginning of the project typically to let us in and at the end of the project for a final “Pride Walk” to make sure the project meets your expectations.
Answer: Certainly! While you are at work or running errands, our crew will be busy prepping and painting your home. We are fully licensed and insured so there is nothing to worry about.
Answer: Yes, our painters can be trusted in your home. We make it a point to hire only the most experienced, highly skilled, and trustworthy professionals as part of our company, so you can rest easy knowing that your home is in good hands, even if you do have to step out to run a few errands while your painting project is being completed.
Answer: Once we begin your project, the crew that’s assigned to that job is dedicated to be there until it’s done. We won’t leave and start a new project until your project is complete.
Answer: On exterior projects, there are several tasks that can be performed in light rain or fog, such as power washing, scraping and caulking. However, we cannot apply sealants, primer or paint in wet weather. In these instances, we must wait for the surface to dry out to ensure the coatings we apply leave you with a quality, and dependable finish.
Answer: We try to keep disruption to a minimum. At Oliveira Painting we consider neatness, professionalism and clean-up as important as the painting itself. At the end of each day, our crews will clean the areas we are working in and move tools and paint to a shop area (typically the garage, basement, or empty room).
Answer: We do our very best to minimize the disruption to your everyday life, and get out of there as quickly as possible. We understand the inconvenience it’s causing you, with your furniture moved, drop cloths, and plastic hanging all over. We have a motto, “Always leave a job site better than you found it.” We’re fanatics about cleaning up after ourselves everyday we’re on site, and especially when we’re all done. We want you to start enjoying your newly transformed space right away.
Answer: Yes, we can match colors! With today’s computer matching technology, it’s easy to get an almost exact match. It’s helpful if we have an old paint can, or the paint color from the manufacturer. If we don’t, our options are to get a small piece to take to the paint store for a custom match, or pick a color from a fan deck that is very close. Colors may look different in different lighting, and surrounded by different things like carpeting or countertops – so we encourage that a color sample be applied to see how it will look in your space.
Answer: For interior painting, we will generally need to know what your choices are the day we start. For exterior painting, if we have a lot of prep work then you can decide even slightly after we get started. For interior painting, when we are doing prep work, we can put some sample colors on the wall for you to see how they look in real life as well.
Answer: Absolutely. Color is by and large a very personal decision, and sometimes color can be very subjective. What we might like, might not be your taste, and vice versa. But we’re very experienced in helping guide our customers to the right family of colors and thinking through all the factors that can change how this color might look like after it’s applied. Things like lighting, flooring, cabinets, and furniture can all effect that color and how it looks in your home.
Answer: YES – EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by the EPA (or an EPA authorized state). You should only use certified painting contractors who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.
Answer: A fully encapsulated house poses no threat, but once the paint starts to deteriorate, the risk of lead dust is probable. If the house is showing signs of paint failure, such as peeling and blistering, then the paint may very likely be releasing lead dust. If we are painting a house and disturb any lead paint, we are required by law to follow all EPA RRP and OSHA rules.
Answer: It’s very simple for us to check and we always do. We use a 3M lead check swab, we rub it on surface and if swab turns red, there’s lead. If you have specific questions about lead paint the EPA maintains a phone number you can call to ask questions: 1-800-424-LEAD
Answer: Lead paint is not a joke. Amongst a variety of other symptoms, it causes learning disabilities in children, digestive problems, impotence, irritability, lethargy, hyperactivity and insomnia, headaches, and in extreme cases it can result in seizures, coma and even death. Children are particularly at risk for lead poisoning by ingestion because of their small size, their tendency to put things in their mouth, and the fact that lead dust has a slightly sweet taste to it, so they tend to return to it if they know where to find it. The EPA, OSHA and DHS all have regulations covering responsible practices for contractors who disturb lead paint, and we follow them strictly. You might find a contractor willing to “bend the rules” to save you some money and you can hire them at your own risk. We don’t play that game.
Answer: Yes, we leave the leftover paints, properly labeled, along with a color schedule for each surface that was painted.
We understand how hectic life can get, so we want to make your experience with us as stress-free as possible.
